Please read below to find directions to Brown University from nearby areas on the East Coast. To fly in, the T.F. Green International Airport located about 15 minutes away by car from Brown University. Please note that all attendees are responsible to book their own travel, you may use this guide for suggestions on how to travel to the venue.
From Connecticut
By Train:
Depart from your nearest Amtrak station in Connecticut (e.g., New Haven, Stamford, or Hartford).
Take the Amtrak Northeast Regional or Acela to Providence Station (PVD).
Travel time: ~1.5 - 2.5 hours depending on your starting location.
From Providence Station:
Taxi or Rideshare: ~10 minutes to Brown University.
Public Bus (RIPTA): Take Bus 1, 32, or 33 to the Brown University stop (fare: $2, ~15 minutes).
By Bus:
Greyhound or Peter Pan Bus Lines offer service from major cities in Connecticut (e.g., New Haven, Hartford) to Providence.
Travel time: ~2 - 3 hours.
Upon arrival at the Downtown Providence Bus Terminal:
Taxi or Rideshare: ~10 minutes to Brown University.
Public Bus (RIPTA): Take Bus 1, 32, or 33 to the Brown University stop (~15 minutes)
By Car:
From New Haven or Hartford:
Take I-95 North towards Providence.
Continue on I-95 North for about 85-100 miles (depending on your starting point).
In Providence:
Take Exit 22A-22B-22C toward Downtown/Route 6/Route 10.
Merge onto Memorial Boulevard and turn left onto Washington Street.
Follow signs to Brown University at 69 Brown Street, Providence, RI.
Parking:
Metered parking is available along College Hill.
Visitor parking is available at the Power Street and Lot 68 garages
From Boston
By Train:
Depart from South Station in Boston.
Take the Amtrak Northeast Regional or Acela to Providence Station (PVD).
Travel time: ~45 minutes to 1 hour.
From Providence Station:
Taxi or Rideshare: ~10 minutes to Brown University.
Public Bus (RIPTA): Take Bus 1, 32, or 33 to the Brown University stop (fare: $2, ~15 minutes).
Alternative:
MBTA Commuter Rail (Providence/Stoughton Line) departs from South Station and Back Bay. Travel time: ~1 hour 10 minutes.
By Bus:
Peter Pan Bus Lines or Greyhound offers service from Boston's South Station Bus Terminal to Downtown Providence.
Travel time: ~1 hour to 1.5 hours.
Upon arrival at the Downtown Providence Bus Terminal:
Taxi or Rideshare: ~10 minutes to Brown University.
Public Bus (RIPTA): Take Bus 1, 32, or 33 to the Brown University stop (~15 minutes).
By Car:
From Boston:
Take I-93 South to merge onto I-95 South toward Providence.
Continue on I-95 South for about 50 miles (~1 hour).
In Providence:
Take Exit 22A-22B-22C toward Downtown/Route 6/Route 10.
Merge onto Memorial Boulevard and turn left onto Washington Street.
Follow signs to Brown University at 69 Brown Street, Providence, RI.

From Pennsylvania
By Train:

From Pittsburgh: ~11 to 12 hours with connections.
From Providence Station:

By Bus:
Greyhound or Peter Pan Bus Lines operates from Pennsylvania cities (Philadelphia, Harrisburg, Pittsburgh) to Downtown Providence Bus Terminal.
From Philadelphia: ~6.5 to 7 hours.
From Pittsburgh: ~10 to 12 hours.
Upon arrival at the Downtown Providence Bus Terminal:

By Car:
From Philadelphia:
Take I-95 North toward New York City and continue through Connecticut into Rhode Island.

From Pittsburgh:
Take I-76 East (Pennsylvania Turnpike) toward Harrisburg.
Merge onto I-95 North toward New York and follow it to Providence.
Total distance: ~480 miles (~8 to 9 hours).
In Providence:
Take Exit 22A-22B-22C toward Downtown/Route 6/Route 10.
Merge onto Memorial Boulevard and turn left onto Washington Street.
